- Geothermal technology
utilizes the natural energy source of the earth and can save you
30-70% on your monthly utility bills.
-
The 55-65 degree ground
temperature remains relatively constant all year. A geothermal system
circulates water through a buried closed loop in the earth, a pond
or a well to take advantage of these temperatures. In the summer
the earth is cooler than the air temperatures and so provides natural
cooling. In the winter, the earth is warmer than the air and therefore
warms the water circulating in the system.
- A geothermal system, whether
cooled/warmed by water in a pond or well or by the earth, works with
your regular duct system connected to a geothermal heat pump or can
be used with a radiant floor system. Works with new construction or
as a retrofit to existing construction.
- "The higher initial cost of geothermal
heat pumps is balanced by the low costs for maintenance and operation.
In a new home, the additional payment on your mortgage for a geothermal
heat pump is usually less than the savings on energy bills".
